It is a fundamental aim of EPAC to support regional development initiatives of many kinds, keeping in mind the needs and interests of the various regions of Canada, and endeavouring to offer events appropriate to local conditions.
Dialogue and Networking
In 2006, EPAC created two new activities to stimulate dialogue and networking across Canada, and to provide further support to the existing regional development structure.
1. Formation of Chapters
This is a very simple and flexible mechanism to enable broader participation of members across the country in activities related to EPAC’s mission.

2. Members’ Outreach
EPAC members and EPAC chapters are encouraged to reach out to the corporate, public, professional, academic and international development sectors. This is accomplished through member dialogue with partners or friends in every sector, as well as invitations to EPAC roundtable luncheons or events, and EPAC chapter activities, as an ongoing practice.

The Existing Regional Development Structure
A Regional Development Tool Kit was developed in 2003 to assist those engaged in holding local events, as well as those thinking about organizing future activities. The Tool Kit includes a description of some “traditional” EPAC efforts in the regions, such as the highly successful Ottawa Round Table and annual Quebec Conference.
