This inventory is designed to help individuals
to find resources to strengthen their competencies in the
field
of ethics applied to organizations. As such, it will be particularly useful for current or prospective ethics practitioners, including those
for whom ethics-related tasks make up only a small part of their duties. Ethics
practitioners include ethics officers in the public,
private and voluntary sectors, as well as ethics consultants
and educators in these sectors.
See EPAC’s Competency Profile of Ethics Practitioners
and the related Competency Self-Assessment Guide (see COMPETENCIES
in the menu
at left) for information
on the desirable knowledge, skills and functions of an
ethics practitioner.
Included in this inventory of education and training resources are:
- Ethics centers affiliated primarily with universities
- Certificate, diploma & masters programs specializing in business, professional or applied ethics
- Individual courses and programs for which ethics practitioners are eligible, such as:
- Continuing education courses
- Management & executive development programs
- Masters levels courses which can be audited by individuals who are not registered for a full program
- Community college courses which can be audited by individuals who are not registered for a full program
- Non-academic organizations that specialize in on-site ethics training
The inventory does not include individual ethics courses that are open only to students who are registered for full degree programs. Listings are
provided in the language, English or French, of the course or program.
The listings were selected for their possible interest to current or prospective ethics practitioners in organizations. However,
individuals seeking education or training should investigate offerings of interest in greater detail. EPAC has applied no qualitative
selection criteria to the programs, courses or instructors, and so cannot endorse the products or the service providers listed.
The initial
version of the inventory was compiled primarily from
