This course focuses on the interrelationships between business and society using a stakeholder perspective. The course recognizes that economic responsibilities cannot be separated from the requirement of an enterprise to be socially responsible. The concept of stakeholders will be used to examine issues having both economic and societal consequences. Topics include: market structure, competition, industry analysis, codes of ethics, codes of conduct, stakeholder engagement strategies, and corporate citizenship.

PHIL 333 Professional Ethics
Undergraduate level course, online

Provides an introduction to the special ethical problems and issues that arise for practitioners of professions. For example, what does it mean to identify oneself as a professional? What moral qualities should professionals bring to their practice? Can one's moral judgements as a professional conflict with those one would make as a private citizen? Students will develop their own ability to recognise moral aspects of professional practice, to analyse concepts and issues in professional ethics, and to develop and defend their own positions on a variety of issues.
